Engraved jewellery

Jewellery is worn daily against skin and clothing, which rules out anything applied to the surface. The laser etches into the metal itself, so the mark stays as the piece polishes with wear rather than wearing off it.

The engravable area is small — a bar or a pendant takes a name, a short date or a set of coordinates rather than a sentence. Some pieces take engraving on both faces, which is the usual way to fit a name on one side and a date on the other.
