Engraved photo gifts in crystal, glass and acrylic

These are all the same idea in different materials: a photograph turned into an engraving rather than a print. In optical crystal the laser focuses beneath the surface and etches the image as thousands of points inside the block, so it sits in the middle of the glass and reads in three dimensions as you turn it. On acrylic it frosts the image into the sheet, which catches the light from an LED base beneath it. On wood and slate it burns a tonal image straight into the face.

None of them can fade, because none of them use ink. There is no printed layer to scratch off or peel — the mark is the material itself, changed.

All of it works from an ordinary photograph: faces, pets, buildings, logos. We prepare the image, convert it to the tonal range the material can hold, and send a proof before anything is cut. A clear, well-lit photo with the subject facing the camera gives the best result; a dark or busy background is the usual reason one does not, and we will say so before you pay.
